Today an agreement was signed under which AC Nielsen Netherlands acquired a 51% share in MEDIARESEARCH. This strategic partnership will help Mediaresearch expand its high quality Czech measuring technologies and to bolster its current projects, especially in foreign markets.
Admosphere (UK) Ltd, represented by Iain Rügheimer, Vladimír Komár, Tereza Šimečková and Michal Jordan continues to own the remaining stake in Mediaresearch, of 49 %.The current strategy of Mediaresearch will continue. The company will pursue the development of its Czech technologies, as agreed with its new partner, together with the current focus of the company and the range of the products offered. In addition, this strategic partnership will provide Mediaresearch and its current and future clients with the possibility of using the technologies and products of Nielsen. The companies also want to use their synergy to offer new research products to the market.In the Czech Republic, there will be two active sister companies of the Group offering their complimentary services; AC Nielsen Czech Republic focused especially on retail measurement (what people buy) and Mediaresearch on media measurement (what people watch). Mediaresearch will be renamed to Nielsen Admosphere during the second half of this year. Tereza Šimečková and Michal Jordan have been appointed as Managing Directors to the new five-member Board of Directors, and will be joined by Kyriakos Kyriakou, Managing Director of Nielsen Eastern Europe and Executive Director of AC Nielsen Czech Republic, and Alain Couttolenc with Vittorio Sala, leaders of Nielsen´s European Media business.“We are very pleased that our lengthy negotiations have led to a successful conclusion for both parties,“ says Tereza Šimečková, Chairwoman of Mediaresearch, and continues: “With this merger, new growth possibilities will arise for our company and at the same time I consider this an appreciation and recognition of the work and quality of the entire team of the Mediaresearch Group.“Vice-chairman of Mediaresearch Michal Jordan adds: “We strongly believe that this merger will enable us to further develop and strengthen our position in both domestic and foreign markets and that it will bring new projects, beneficial to our current and new clients.“All companies where Mediaresearch holds a majority stake held in the Mediaresearch Group are becoming members of the Nielsen Group.
